PHENOMENON NAME: KAMAL HAASAN AND VISHWAROOPAM MOVIE REVIEW!

Hi people, Hope you all doing great. Ever since sachin’s retirement, I would definitely say it took me more than a month to get back to normalcy. Probably it was one among the perfect examples wherein I had outlived and experienced the saying, whatever happens “Life will move on and on”.

It was 25 January 2013, everyone was thanking god for it was a Friday, but I had to really thank two of my buddies Rajapandian and Manoj for booking us the tickets for the most expected and the contemplated movie of the year 2013 “Vishwaroopam” amidst their busy schedule.

Ever since the name of the movie was announced by Dr kamal Haasan, the eagerness and the anticipation went sky high for he is one man who has always been giving us only unique, comprehending, ingenious and highbrow movies. I am lucky enough to have been in Bangalore rather than in Tamil Nadu or else I would have missed this master piece named “Vishwaroopam” from the legendary Padmashri Dr kamal haasan on its opening day.

                      I believe that pluralistic
                      Secularism, in the long run
                      Is a more deadly poison
                      Than straightforward persecution
                                                                             -Francis Schaeffer

Kamal haasan has indeed become a victim for the above saying. It is indeed oppressively dreary, for a man of his stature who has solely consecrated his entire life just to entertain us and to have entertained us for more than 5 decades or 51 years to be exact is a sheer disgrace and faintly blasphemous one. People, who protested for the ban of the movie, please grow up. In the entire 2.30 hours of the movie there is nothing against the spirituality of any Indian religion or in fact there is nothing against any Indian, for that sake. This movie is an absolute brain child and an incomparable outcome from one extraordinary astute, legendary artist “Ulaganaayagan kamal Haasan”.
I don’t want to reveal the entire plot and break the anxiety of those die hard fanatics of Dr kamal Haasan who are even ready to watch the movie travelling hundreds and hundreds of kilometers far away from our very own secular Tamil Nadu.

The rise in the number of so-called “green-on-blue” attacks – the killing of NATO soldiers by the Afghan counterparts in the army and how kamal as the protagonist joins the Al-Qaeda which is lead by the de facto head  Omar and how they plan a future Nuclear attack on the United States and who stops it? Is how the Movie goes.

The characterizations of the actors were just speckless. Needless to mention about kamal haasan's acting skills here. Kamal Haasan as Vishwanath/Wisam Ahmad Kashmiri has indeed hypostatized a kathak dancer and a terrorist on screen. Pooja kumar as the nuclear oncologist- Dr Nirupama, Andrea as Ashmita and Rahul bose as Omar have made justice to their roles. Hats off to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for those soul stirring songs and BGMs. If kamal contributes to more than half of the hair raising moments in the movie, the rest are brought to you by the gimmicks of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy trio.

The technical brilliance of this movie warrants a more detailed explanation but I wonder it will end up in hero worship, so I stop here. The transformation scene wherein Vishwanath transforms to Wisham Ahmad kashmiri is a once in a life time experience which will send chills down your spine and will make you go berserk no matter whom ever your favorite hero is. You will have to thank kamal haasan and the Art director illayaraja for taking you to Afghanistan without you having to face all those security hassles if you had to travel to Afghanistan.

Keeping kamal haasan on mind,It would be unfair if vairamuthu had taken more than 5 minutes to pen down such a befitting lyrics

“Yar Endru Purigiratha
ivan Thee Endru Therigiratha
Thadaigalai Vendrae Sarithiram Padaiththavan
Nyabagam Varugiratha! “

The cinematographer Sanu Varghese would not have had much of a hardship since kamal Hasan was at the helm of everything. May it be the Auro-3D, the first of its kind for any Indian movie or the visually appealing cinematography and any other technical brilliance of this movie was on par with the Hollywood Movies.

The way the climax was open with plenty of queries unanswered and with the sequel’s font beaming in, showed the directorial prodigy in kamal haasan, it was first of its kind I have ever seen In any Indian cinema till date. For all those who have seen Vishwaroopam-1, the most expected movie for the next few years would unanimously be Vishwaroopam-II. If ever there is any Indian movie in the future with such a technical extravaganza, brilliant screenplay, Spine tingling stunt sequences and which shall entertain you for the entirety of the movie you can blindly say it would only be a Kamal Haasan Movie.

Verdict:

One Awesome Movie in my life time, Immaculate! Those of you who are lamenting that Tamil Cinema is never be-reft of commercial elements and can never be on par with Hollywood movies, Then be prepared to have your faiths thrashed! Watch it for the legend called kamal Haasan, you will end up taking a bow and saluting him!
