Happy birthday Michael, Hope you win this one last race!

If you are a true sports lover and if you believe in god, spare a thought or pray for a minute for the legendary German f1 racer Michael Schumacher (MSC) who is fighting for his life in a medically induced coma for the brain injury he has suffered in a skiing accident.

My first Schumacher memory dates back to 2000 some 14 years back, in my friend Guru Karthik’s home on a rainy Saturday afternoon while we were doing an umbrella for the SUPW (Social Useful Product Work) under the able guidance of another friend Sabari Ayyappan. Some Random grandprix was going on in the television and Schumacher conquered the chequered flag with his red devil. That was the first instance when I got to know of who is MSC. From there on, there was no looking back, Schumacher kept conquering not only the chequered flags but also all our hearts.

Michael and Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro: The Best love story so far in Sports
Now for those Indians who don't know (if any) who Michael Schumacher is, he is to formula one racing like how Sachin Tendulkar is to cricket. Michael Schumacher is arguably the best F1 driver of all time. He has won seven world titles far more than anyone at the pinnacle of F1 racing and dominated the sport to such an extent that he was the undisputed king of formula one. Michael Schumacher was also known as the “rain-maestro” because of his track records particular when it rains or when the track is wet. Whenever it rains or particularly when the track is wet, we can blindly predict that Schumacher will emerge the winner without any second thoughts.

This Smile has made plenty of my Childhood days memorable
If it was for the red devil or the Ferrari, it was always Michael Schumacher who had a phenomenal record with the Ferrari. MSC was associated with Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro for almost 10 years (1997-2006), that’s when we witnessed vintage Michael Schumacher. F1 lovers were just hypnotized by the Michael-Magic for over decades together. Michael who quitted racing by 2006, after a huge hiatus of 4 years brought in a wild excitement to over a million fans when Mercedes declared that it will be coming back to f1 and the Mercedes team will be spear headed by none other than the Superb-Schumacher. The next day most of the European dailies pitched in with the title in the front page saying “The King is coming back”. People went frenzy reading that.

When the Little Master met the Rain Maestro
The Michael-magic didn’t work out during his comeback in 2010. He kept failing every now and then. The historic comeback only fetched him blatant cynicism from the media and the race experts. After a series of downfall MSC quitted racing once for in 2012. The Superb-Schumi holds umpteenth Formula one record. Most wins in a season (13) in 2004, Most wins with one team (72) for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro. He holds the record for most number of podiums finishes (155). He has won 22 different Grand prix. Schumacher has driven almost 24,144 kms in races. He still holds the record for most number of races with one team (181) for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and the records shall go on if your name is Michael Schumacher.

And that's the trademark triumphant MSC Leap
For the real F1 fans, Michael Schumacher represents an era of speed, supremacy and pure excellence. We were living every moment of this rollercoaster drama to the fullest and Schumacher was the cherry who was always on the top of it. We shall all hope and pray optimistically that Michael Schumacher, who is now fighting for his life shall revive back to life with an extraordinary resilience. If there could be someone who could pull through this it should be you Michael. Come on Michael, win this one last race. It’s January 3rd and Schumi turns 45. Happy 45th birthday Michael….. Here is wishing you a speedy recovery as fast as your Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro.
